==How To Boot Into Single User Mode==&lt;br /&gt;
During your LILO startup where it pauses for 5 or 30 seconds, at the &amp;lt;code&amp;gt;boot:&amp;lt;/code&amp;gt; prompt, if you type &amp;lt;code&amp;gt;&amp;lt;i&amp;gt;image_name&amp;lt;/i&amp;gt; 1&amp;lt;/code&amp;gt;, the boot will continue but you will be in [[Single User Mode]].&lt;br /&gt;

:EXAMPLE: On my dual boot system, my Linux image is named &amp;quot;Linux&amp;quot; and my Windows image is named &amp;quot;windoz&amp;quot;.  To boot into single user mode, at the &amp;lt;code&amp;gt;boot:&amp;lt;/code&amp;gt; prompt I would type: &amp;lt;code&amp;gt;boot: &amp;lt;b&amp;gt;linux 1&amp;lt;/b&amp;gt;&amp;lt;/code&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

TIP: If you did not install your system with a pause, you should really run [[liloconfig]] and put at least a 5 second pause in.  Sometimes it's useful.&lt;/div&gt;</description>
